The Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter Steering Committee has partnered with Korn Ferry to conduct the research and produce a report to identify best practice, innovations and begin to develop a baseline for gender balance statistics within the UK Aviation and Aerospace sectors.

We plan to communicate outcomes on International Women’s Day 8th March 2020 and the full report at the Farnborough International Airshow in July.

Very little targeted analysis has been done regarding the unique challenges within the Aviation and Aerospace sectors. The last dedicated paper was published in 2009 and Korn Ferry recently published a study on gender diversity in Aviation and Aerospace organisations.  The WiAA Steering Committee believes there is a requirement for a refreshed understanding of the factors that drive gender balance progress and the nature of the challenges across the sectors, so efforts can be properly focussed.

We aim to create clear advice and practical next steps for the Women in Aviation and Aerospace charter signatory organisations, who have pledged to promote gender balance. We will explore the sectors and also look at other sectors with similar challenges to understand opportunities and how to overcome challenges.

If you work in the aviation or aerospace industry, please complete the survey which will take around 10 minutes by following the link here.

The deadline for completing the survey is 13 March 2020. Thank you for your participation.
